Radius Arm Drop?
Radius Arm Drop?
ok I am instaling a 5.5" superlift im on the step that says we need to drup the radius arm 6 inches. now i put a jack under the cros member that the radius arm brackets make and unbolted the brackets from the frame now the instuctions say i should be able to lower the jack and the radius arm and brackets should drop but the radius arms are sapported by the axle whats going on?? please help
thanks
thanks
you should keep the axle supported by jack stands and have the springs and shocks off...........then they should lower.......you may also have to unbolt them from the axle....i had to when i installd my superlift

well that dont make much sence the superlift instructions tell me to:
1: prepair vehical place jacks under frame
2: remove cotter pin from pitman arm dissconect crossmember
3:unbold radus arm bracets and lower a jack placed under brackets 6"
WTF?????
also what do i have to spred the radius arms for it says i have to spred them a half inch more than stock??? why??

i could but for some reason my computer will not let me open PDF files and thats what the lift instuctions are in but if you can go to www.superlift.com then to supspention lifts and my truck is a 97 ranger and its the 5.5 inch kit. and has anyone had any problems getting the new passanger side axle drop bracket to fit on lifts?
you are skipping the step to spred the brackets from the frame........makes sense since all you do when you grind the rivits off is get the head and the body of the rivit is still in the bracket and frame.......take a punch or an air hammer and knock them out then it should drop...
