Torsion bar bolts?
First of all I'd like to say hi to everyone as this is my first post here. I recently bought an 02 Ranger that's been beat off to hell.... Anyway just to say trucks aren't my best subject, I'm more of a car guys, but what do you want, winter is coming and I need a truck... hehe. So the guy cranked the torsion bars to the max to get the front end lifted up. So this morning I decided to lower it since it was useless and just making the truck go ape on the road. I started unthreading the bolt(http://tinyurl.com/mq5msr2 number 8 on this diagram). But I figured the truck only started lowering when the bolt was 3/4 way out of the "socket" or plate it was threaded in. Now I have both bolts in my hand but my truck is the right height. Could someone point me in the right direction as what to do with that? Here's a pic of the bolts, perhaps they are not the stock bolt or whatever.

It doesn't make much sense... The driver's side always sits lower than the passenger side. If the bolts are removed, this should be visible or shown using a tape measure.
The bolts do look stock. The bolts are there to adjust for torsion bar wear.
I'd say thread 'em in so both sides are level and call it good and not worry about it. Usually in stock crank set-up, the driver side bolt is threaded 3/4 the way...passenger side 1/2 the way.
I wonder if this is an issue with you being so used to cars, you're not used to a truck or SUV that sits considerably higher even in stock form? I don't know....but a possibility.

Thats what I found kind odd, when I was looking under the frame of the truck, beside the differential the 2 bolts were the "lowest" thing popping out... kind annoyed me. The truck is actually sitting at the "descent" height with the bolts out, Its currently on 31's. I'll grab a few pics later to show you.

I doubt he installed keys, kinda red neck guy haha. Thats the measurement from the fender flare, its also sitting on 31's.

There's two pieces that cover those bolts and protect them. Do you have those plates? If your driving around on a 31" tire, I wouldn't worry about hitting them unless you wheel. Throw some loctite on em and call it good.
I'd offer my plates if someone can verify they are not structual.
Btw, that's roughly where mine sits. However, I use inches in this part of Canada, centimeters gives away your location.
