Rear diff sitting "off"
I was washing my truck today and when I stood back, I noticed the wheel is sitting nowhere near the center of the left rear wheel well. I went around to look at the passenger side and it is sitting dead on center. The wheel in question is sitting considerably closer to the rear of the truck in that wheel well.
I did a quick visual and didnt notice anything out of place. Any ideas? The truck is a 99 2wd |
Does it dogtrack going down the road?
|
Nope. Drives arrow straight

axle shaft
|
How would an axle shaft twist the axle as he is describing? It sounds like something is bent or out of alignment to push the tire to the back of the wheel well on only one side
And stupid question... Was the truck sitting level? |
Or broken centering pin on the leaf spring..
|
Not sure what you mean by axel shaft.......
I swapped out the leafs last week. The centering pin was in tact upon install...... Yes the truck was sitting level |
I would double check the pin in the leafs
|
Just checked. Pins are all good
|
can you get some pics
|
I will snap some pics later today. As it sits right now from my measuring points there is about 1/2 inch difference from the LR wheel to the RR wheel. Seems like more when just eyeing it, but it is still 1/2" nonetheless.

Is your bed lined up straight on the frame?
I'd measure from inside wheel to frame on each side.... |
