I need new shocks......give me suggestions.

Hi.

I'm in need on new shocks. At 69k, they are crap. Give me suggestions on what to get. I'm considering the Bilsteins that come on L2s. A seller on ebay has 'em for $240 shipped for all four. Are they are good shock? Suggestions please???

Thanks!!

Shane

I've heard nothing but good things about Bilstein shocks. I've never used them though.

Can't go wrong with a Bilstein. Just make sure they are valved for your application.

I just got the Bilsteins that are the stock replacements for my 99 Ranger. They seem just fine.

Can't remember part numbers, but I think I got them through a guy on the board (WholesaleMN.com) I think. Great guy. Either way I say Bilsteins.

Everyone and their brothers wifes step-sons best friend has either Rancho or Bilstein. Dont get me wrong, they are good shocks, but threre is better. Monroe, Rancho and Gabriel shocks all have twin-tube shocks, and they are all constructed out of exhaust tubing(no joke). The disadvantage of these shocks is that the twin-tube design allows the gas and oil to combine, creating shock fade. If you want a great shock, go with the KYB Monomax. Whatever you buy be sure to get a mono-tube design shock. I have Monomax's on my 99 4x4 and they keep the tires glued to the road and on the dirt. Keep in mind that Monomax shocks are specifically built for vehicles with a high center of gravity.
