rear shackle
rear shackle
Today I'm putting on some deaver F31 and when I flip the rear shackle I was wondering if I'm to tighten the shackle on the mount so that the shackle is standing up or if I'm to put it on loose so it can move back and forth. I'm just running fabtech shocks in the back and they are mounted in the stock shock location.
the shakle will move no matter how tight you get it(the bolt will snap before it gets to the point where it wont move.
i am running the f31's and blitz shackles and it just hit the bolts with an impact and called it a day, never re-torqued em and ive beat on the truck a bit
i can tell you this right now.. you are going to HATE!!! the shocks in the factory location!
and are you going to limit your rear travel? you dont want to over extend the rear shock.

I torqued the shackle bolts to 70 ft-lbs because factory specks are from 65 to 87 and I notice that it still moved when the leafs drop. That shocks I'm using for right now are some fabtech performance shocks because when I bought them a while back I was just trying to save some dough. I want to get some bilstine 5100s but would that really give it that much better of a ride?
