Rear Suspension travel w/ DEAVERS HeLp
 

I put some new deavers on my truck last week and i just measured it to get new shocks. I used a jack directly under the lip of the area for a spare, bu the bumper...directly centered.. and at ride height it is 21 inches on the left side and 22.5 inches on the right from shock mount on the frame to the shock mount on the axel. That seams really weird to me. But the truck sits level, not tilted to the left or right side. Then fully extended, 27" on the left and 26 on the right from mount to mount. Thats 6 inches of shock travel on the left and 3.5 on the right...??? Whats up with that???? could someone explain it to me, or is my mounts bent or somehting? Does that make any cents?

o i measured from the centers of each mount bollts...

1st of all I dont have a transfer case... and who said anything bout a trasfer case???????

The angle you measured from can make a difference . I'd like to measure mine from a 12% incline but that has nothing to do with real world. How about some flat level pics nto dpur us along to helping you? Maybe you need some tortion crank , and or some leveling blocks. We're here to help.

O, just to clarify, i was measuring to get shocks, i dont have them yet.. and i odnt have torsion bars its an xlt.

That was my thought exactly.:stupid: But anywho...Does your truck have the ever infamous ranger lean? Take that into account and the fact that your gas take is on one side so it could be weighing it down? Also was your truck on an incline to the left and the right? How level was the ground?

My truck was in my garage, its flat, and my truck sit level, no ranger lean, so i ave no clue...

I think that thats what happened when you buy cheap crappy deavers, Bryn. If you would of just gone with an add a leaf you wouldnt have any problems. Ha ha. What kind of shocks are you looking to invest in? Still want me to build you a bed cage? IM gonna start on mine in about a week, maybe 2...

add a leaf instead of deavers? why? i see no upside to that.

Yeah but DEAVER's are a masive head ache. And I dnot want to take THAT much time...
