Heres The Game Plan, What Yall Think?
ok, from what ive read on this site so far i think i know what i want to do to lower my step bros 01 standard cab Edge. I still have a few questions tho..
1st. Take out the rear blocks.
2nd. Decrank the torsions depending on how low the back is to make it level.
Now onto the questions..
1. How much can you safely decrank the torsions?
2. Has anyone removed the overload leafs on rangers? (honestly i dont even know how many leafs are in rangers leaf packs..or if they even have an overload lol) Just LMK yalls opinion on this.
3. From what i understand the EDGE and the Sport sit higher than...XLTs right? What parts of the suspension make them so much different? And are any xlt parts interchangable?
ok i think thats it for now ha, sorry for the long post or if any of these topics have already been beaten to death. Post me a link if they have please.

1- I had my bolts taken all the way out and never had any problems other than camber
2- I think some have done this, but the better option is to flip the rear hanger.
3- Edge sits higher because it basically has the 4x4 suspension without tcase and front axle.

Yes, you can get away with it, but I do advise changing at least the back.

alright well tuesday evening i did the intake and throttle cable mod and did the hanger flip.
it sits around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch lower in the back than the front (torsion bars have not been touched)
heres the only decent pic i took
just from the hanger flip i noticed it handled much better. block removal and torsion decrank should happen in a week or two

I hope he likes riding on bump stops up front..?
There isn't much travel up there if you lower it a couple of inches he'll be banging the bump stops a lot. Hell even with stock 4x4 suspension I would hit the bump stops up front occasionally with regular driving. If nothing else, atleast get some firmer shocks and maybe more progressive bump stops or something. The edge is really not the platform to start with if you want to lower a ranger.

Why would you get shorter shocks up front? The suspension still has to work within it's designed range of travel (unless you can relocate bumpstops and there is room for it to move), there really isn't anywhere else for it to go. If you run shorter shocks on the front he's more likely to pull the shocks apart from over-extension if you ask me.
