Riding without front sway bar

Does anyone ride with their front sway bar off, daily driver? I take mine off periodically because the ride is much much smoother, but involves more body roll. And, my ride to work is mostly highway and I don't want any rollover situations if I would have to swerve insane or something.

Also, I just got my truck inspected with the sway bar on, but wondered if it was legal to have it off, and I checked the Pennsylvania rules online, and I believe from what it was saying, that your vehicle won't pass state inspection if the sway bar is removed if originally outfitted with one. Is this true, just wondering? If so, what would you do if you have a long travel suspension and it isn't possible to have a sway bar? I guess that would be an exception.

I have had my sway bar off for almost a year. There is a lot more body roll, just dont take turns extremely fast. Normal driving should be fine. To find out the legality of removing your sway bar just send and email to the state police or something, they should reply back to you.

i tired it once and its not for me. id rather have a rough ride.

i never tried it stock but with a body lift and a superlift, with 33s id rather leave it on for road use.

OH, it drives real smooth with it off, I like it like that. My torsion bars are a little weakened from wheeling hard from the past few year/years, so I think I may have a little more body roll with the sway bar off more than a stock or new vehicle with stiffer/non-weakened t-bars.

I dont think theres legal issues with it but i have heard of insurance issues if you get in an accident and they find out you didnt have one......not for sure, but i think someone told me that. It does ride real nice off-road though, I had mine off for a while and its soo much nicer.

Check out this link about the legality of the sway bar for inspection:
http://www.pabulletin.com/secure/dat...3-48/2265.html

It's in secton (3) (V), about 3/4 the way down the page.

Hade mine off for a while and love it.... I didn't think about there being some legality issues though... I can't imagine anything that serious... no one's gonne find out unless they're looking closely under my truck. With my entry level LT too, I'd have to make longer links for it to work on my truck still... I like it off though, both on and off-road. I like some nice body roll commin around corners!

I'm not sayin' to take it off though... whatever works for you works for you, but it is a safety feature and could possibly create a problem later on. Quick lane changes can be a little freaky the first few times as the truck leans opposite the lane change and then has to correct itself... I still think it's nice though...
