Problem With AALs

I ordered some AALs from Summit last week so today i was gunna install them...

and i opened the package of bolts and there were 3 different sizes..so that was the 1st question..did i get the wrong bolts sent to me?

then...how in the poop do these things work..i understand that you take out hte 2" block put these between the 3 springs and that little straight spring..but once you tighten that down and tighten the U-bolts back that AAL goes flat and didnt add crap...is there somethin that im not understanding or what..so i didnt install them cuz the bolt issue but when i get ready to install these i dont wanna run into any problems..i just dont see how they add 2 1/2"..cuz i went ahead and put one side on to see what it would look like and it was sittin lower then what i started with so its lke it lowereed my truck

One AAL can service a wide variety of trucks with different springs. The center bolt can be a different size/length depending on the spring pack the AAL is added to. That is most likely why several bolts are included.

I can't answer your other question. I can't see your install and it's a mystery to me.

ill get pics tomorrow and point to stuff...but i got 3 different size bolts..so shouldnt there be 2 of the same size so it can lock the springs in from twisting...

so am i right bout the placement as it goes between the 3 long springs and the short one..but the thing i dont understand is..once you torque down the U-bolts and the spring bolt wont it flatten out the aal leavin it with a lift of how thick the metal is...

What SHOULD happen, is the AAL will exert force on the existing pack, causing it to arch more.

Second, the leaves are secured in the middle with a single bolt. What keeps them from "twisting" is the clamps around the leaves up top, and there are some angle pieces between the bottom leaf and the overload to keep it from moving.

The bottom most flat leaf is called the "overload" spring. It "catches" the other leaves when they are overflexed and stiffens them.

The piece you added should be ABOVE the overload, but beneath the other 3 leaves. Is this how you added it? It should have been arched with the ends pointing UPWARD and I'm thinking this is how you put it on, yes?

lol Git-R-done..

yes John i put it on there..i got a friend that is a mechianic and he wa slike i dunno if it goes like that..lol..then i got kinda scared so i quit lol...but he was saying that the bolt needs to be snug so it locks the springs from moving once there put all togehter...so im gunna call pro comp and see what the deal is there..

but now...the part that is gettin me is....but once everythin is torqued back down wont the aal be flatted to match the other springs which will only lift the thickness of the metal??

I covered that already. I said it would cause the other springs to arch more. It's supposed to be quite stiff and force the entire pack to bend -- that's how it works. If it doesn't do that, either it's defective, or you have it on there wrong.
