Rough Country / Cheaper Lift Drop Brackets - Dana35 Interference

I've been tossing around the idea of lifts for the ranger, and I was originally just going to go with 2" levelling coils, and a pair of shackles, however the Rough Country Lifts work out to being $200 or so more, and you get shocks.

The only problem I keep hearing about is the Drop brackets interfering with the Dana35 housing, but no problem with the Dana28's. (I have a 92 Ranger, 4 liter, should have the Dana35 correct?) At the same time, I hear Rough Country has new brackets now and there are no problems at all? I've been searching for a solid answer for a while, but I can't really find anything.

Anyone know for sure what the deal is? Thanks guys.

i really dont know about the lift or your year truck but i think if you have the 4 banger you have the smaller dana 28 axle

in that case i should have the 35, i have the v6 4 liter..i dunno the diff looks pretty beefy i've never taken the time to look up the code on the diff plate though

if you have the 4.0L then you have the 35

thanks..do you know about what kind of clearence issues i will or will not have? i don't want to buy this kit and smash a hole into my diff

not sure. I have the gay IFS so i have not searched at all on the rough country stuff. i have heard of that problem though, and have not heard of a fix besides a DIY solution.

ahhh ok cool.
i sent rough country an email and hopefully they can give me a straight answer...although im probably just another sale to them. maybe I would be better off going with the superlift 4" or skyjacker 4/6" ? if anyone has any advice please chime in, thanks

wouldn't your b2 have a dana 28? can anyone else say for sure whether or not this lift will fit

Metro55 05-27-2009 04:04 PM

It will fit... they wouldn't make a kit that would blow holes in your front diff.... also.. the Bronco and ranger kit are identical.. they have the same under carriage
