I just completed my Superlift install project.

You'll need to open the file in Acrobat Reader or some application that lets you view markup and comments so you can see all of my notes that clarify or explain the steps.

I had a buddy with a hoist and air tools help me out and we got most of the job done within a day. We would have fully finished in a day if:

a) Superlift hadn't left the sway bar links out of the kit
b) I had thought to do an inventory of parts in the box more than a week before my install date
c) The courier company had not fumbled the delivery of said missing sway bar links in time for my install date
d) Superlift had included instructions for the new sway bar links when they did arrive

It's a really long story, but the upshot is that I ended up reinstalling the sway bar links a few times because the instructions in the kit (and on the website) described the older sway bar link design. In the end, I had to call Superlift tech support last Monday for the real story. Turns out that you have to turn your sway bar upside down to make the new sway bar links work.

I also ended up having to pay for two alignments because the Superlift specs for ride height in their current instructions are wrong. (3" to 4" is correct, 4.25" is wrong!)

Oh, and the truck looks like this now, with ATX Ledge 16x8 wheels and 305/70r16 Dick Cepek Fun Country IIs :

I haven't used my sway bar in like...5 years haha. Truck looks good, t-bars need cranked in front and umm...a body lift :)

Oh, I can post more pics. Just gonna pose the truck a bit more nicely, in better light, no cat. :-)

So far so good on the Cepeks. Not too noisy. Truck tracks straight, ride quality is fine. Haven't had a chance to play in the mud yet, though,

 

Time for a pre-key and shackle, then add a lead and tbar crank. Truck looks awesome though!!

 

Looks good! Any pics of the new links? The ones that came in my kit clunked and banged from the day I put them in.

 

New links? They redesigned them? Post pics please.





Don't forget to plan for the driveshaft replacement. It's not a matter of if it will fail, it's when.

When you had everything apart, I would have planned to install 98-07 torsion bar keys and 98-07 4x4 2.5" blocks or using a shackle to gain the height you lost having a 08+ 4x4. Search "Pre-Key Mod".

Here's a pic of the new sway bar links. They're powder coated steel with a long bolt running though them. Notice how the sway bar is upside down now.

@Fx4wannabe01- Yup, I did put in a new driveshaft!

 

About time they did something about those... the original ones are junk! Pretty much everyone I know with a Superlift made their own that style anyways.

 

Nice, I just made a set. The ones that I got with the kit just bang and bang. Got really annoying.

 

Holy cow!! Took 'em long enough to fix their sway bar links! lol. Dang those look beefy! I'll shoot 'em a ring this week to see if they'll send me a set. I'm currently running RCD links.


Good to hear about you tossing on the SL shaft. Alot of Superlift installed folks get surprised when the shaft goes poop. lol.

 

I like the idea of flipping the sway bar that makes so much sense lol good. Call on their part shorter links are a lot less hassle
