Safe to Drive?

Hi,
I am wondering if this is dangerous to drive. Seems solid and I am not driving aggressively. What are your thoughts?
My neighbor, who is a worrier, said nope I wouldn't drive that. Intuitively I feel its fine.

Its looking pretty bad

But its not the stuff you CAN SEE, its the stuff you CAN'T SEE

You really need to sandblast or ?? to get all the surface rust off to see what you are really dealing with, but it don't look good, or safe, IMO

^ I would have to agree, that's some very porous stuff and it looks pretty layered in other areas.
