sooooo your grandfather? was gonna make you sell the MTs but now you want 4wd?

Honestly there is absolutely NO reasonable way to convert your coil sprung truck to 4wd. You could do what Shonuff did and cut out the frame then redo all of it with tube.. but that takes time, and a TON of skill. It would be far easier and cheaper probably just to buy a new truck.

not true.. MAYBE in mud, on a good day. I would love to see you on rocks or a trail with a 2wd vs 4wd.. there's nothing up front to pull the truck up ledges and ****.

anyway, looks at matt(99ranger4x4). im as tall as he is. if he didnt have that body lift he would be super tiny. lol. sas isnt the only way. if you put yur mind to it and want to do some good fab then put an diff in there and swap in the 4x4 upper and lower control arms. and even the spindles. then get some coilovers with rcd bracketry and bolt them in. and then youll need tcase with ds of course. it all depends on what extremes you want to go to to have 4x4.

i would go sas cuz you can still keep it kinda small and very doable. but for prerunner, ifs is the way to go fo sho
He cant do all that.. he has coils and the frame is all funky up there. The frame engulfs the coil.

but yea, I have 3" of body, you have what.. 4-5" of suspension.. bah I'm tiny. idk.. your truck is a beast, I have to have more than like 2" of suspension. I guess all i have in the back is the RCD shackle, thats probably good for what, 4-5"? and the back sits a little lower than the front now.

Idk who taught you how to wheel

I just ordered a sticker from TRS.. "I'm not stuck till I go for help!"

I work at it until i go no where but down, or no where at all cause the tires are off the ground

true, but to keep it in perspective, its not THAT much more in depth than converting his truck to 4wd...

Im going to Longview Texas for 2 months here in a couple days... so its not like my grandpa can say dont do it, lol. If it comes back lifted and with new bumpers and he wants to sell it for another stock truck... it will be a 4x4, lol

except its a TON more in depth.. go SAS your truck and tell me what you think.

its not buy this and bolt it to that, bam done.

its buy this, buy that, hope they work.. they wont, try again.

you need to figure out where the axle has to go, where the springs all have to go, what springs your gonna need for your applications. You have to get a good pinion angle w/o messing with the steering, gotta know where all your angles for steering have to be.. don't even get me started on steering.

you dont see this the way we do, if he wants to sell it because he's mad about what you did... its gonna be for a little civic

Notice how the frame bulges out and engulfs the coil.
