Shock help HELP ASAP

OK im in need of some help ASAP. I have no front shocks... I just got two tubes with a rod, and some valves. The oil is gone the mechanic (would trust him with my life) told me my shocks are fuked. So i figure it's BILSTEIN time what is the Model number for the front tubes used on the FX4's and on the rear (might as well replace them). But I got a question too will this be an impovement in terms of handling and ride quality. I dont want to feel every bump in the rode, nor do i want my handling to suffer since i still kick Civics asses on the weekends for ****s and giggles.

it will be an improvement all the way around.

i think these are right

The part numbers I have for the FX4 Level II Bilstein shocks are:
Front 3L5Z 18124 NA
Rear 1L5Z 18124 HA

may as well order real bilstiens, the ford ones are nothing but ford shocks with a bilstien logo, they are NOT the same as bilstiens you buy off the shelf.

zabeard 06-27-2005 08:20 PM

i dont think they make bilstiens that fit our trucks? i thought it required some modifications.

SoundPer4mance 06-27-2005 08:23 PM

zabeard 06-27-2005 08:52 PM

I agree. Which is why Ford sells them for thirty something bucks and the real Bilsteins are $65-70. No way Ford is going to sell the real Bilsteins that cheap.

Yes they do. Here's a website that has them (scroll down the page a bit and you get the info for the Ranger):

http://www.proamauto.com/page15bd38.htm

The same part numbers fit the 04 Ranger also. These are the Bilstein company's part numbers, not the numbers of the ones Ford sells.

It sounds like you need them ASAP. I'd call the auto parts stores in your city and see if any of them carries them for your truck.
