RCD shackles and 6" skyjacker leafs

Has anyone run this combination, RCD shackles and 6" leafs?

I plan on doing this and removing the stock blocks. Was just kinda wondering how much this will lift the back? I'm guessing around 6"-7". Any pics would be appreciated.

yeah, that would end up with about 6" of lift. the only question that i have is how are you planning to lift the front end of your truck 6" to match the rear?

My RCD is sitting at the house, that's were I'm getting the shackles. I just purchased the leafs off of ebay today.

I'll probably end up with a little rake, but that's what I'm kinda going for.

Can't wait to get this stuff installed!!!

OK, but I am sure you will change your mind once its installed. Unless you can get the front end lifted 6" to match, its really not going to look right. If I were you I would leave out the shackles and just use the springs to get the 4" lift.

From what I've read the RCD will give me around 5"-5.5" inches of lift in the front. So hopefully 1"-2" higher in the back won't look too bad. I guess we'll see when everything gets installed.

Post some pics once this stuff is installed!
You know it!

u wanna sell your body lift?
Nah, I'm gonna be rockin the double lift!!!

Instead of using the RCD shackle you could use the chevy drop shackle. It should be perfect. I bet you could sell the RCD shackle for the same price as the chevy shackle

Hey Matt.

How dare you out bid me. lol.

Anyway....i've got some experience with the rcd stuff. My truck w/ 2.5" stock block, stock leaf, short AAL, and chevy drop shackles.....i sit about 1.75" LOWER than trevor does in the rear with his stock leaf, stock block, RCD AAL and RCD Shackle. The RCD shackle is like 9" eye to eye...the chevy drop is like 7" eye to eye....stock is like 5" eye to eye. I had exact measurements when i installed mine.

You'll still have a pretty good rake if that's what your after....even with no shackle in the rear. My front end(superlift) and trevor's front end(rcd w/ 750lb hypercoils) is about a 1/2 - 9/16" difference. Him maxed out on adjustment of the spring...me only about a 75% crank job.

hope all that might help ya.

oh...imo.....run a chevy drop for about 1.5" additional lift....with the RCD you'd be about a true 7" of total rear lift w/ 6" leafs, no blocks, and rcd shackle.

Thanks, that does help.

That's was I was thinking, about 7" or so in the back. I've only got the 600 lb coils for now. So I guess depending on how much they sag will determine what I end up doing with the back.

What's the word on the chevy shackle? I haven't done any research on it yet. But if anyone wants to enlighten me, be my guest.

They'll sag quite a bit. Within 10k miles, Trevors bump stops were about 1/8" from rubbing the lower control arm...he was bumping off the bump stops sometimes. He's a 4.0L xcab too.

Belltech 6400 shackle is the one most used on our trucks for lift. Heck, the 2/3 lowering kits come with one! I have one, and bunch of others do as well. I got 1.5" lift out of them. 6400's are the 2" chevy drop shackles. They also make a 1" chevy drop shackle which I assume would give you 3/4" lift. The 6400's have holes in the side...and i've got the leafs in the bottom hole. i'm sure you can put the leaf into the second to the last hole if you wanted for less lift.

dont forget, if you play rough the coils are going to sag, take it from the one who went through 2 sets of coils in a year lol

idk about the rake, to each his own but i would prefer it to sit level.. but if one end had to be higher i would want it to be the front
