Shocks

Hello Everyone,
I just want to get your thoughts on a good set of shocks. What I am looking for is to get the most comfortable ride for highway driving 55-65 mph, this is 90% of my driving habits. I do no off roading and my truck is still at stock height, I run Bridgestone 15's slightly larger than stock. I have a 2006 ext cab 2wd ranger. I don't think my stock shocks are worn out, only 23000 miles, will new shocks improve handling and ride comfort? Will I really even notice a difference? Thanks, Mike

my 2006 2wd supercab 4.0 front shocks were toast when I bought the truck recently with 6500 miles on it and at 9000 miles they had hardly any rebound damping. I got the Bilstiens after researching the board and was amazed at the difference. The truck stays level when turning into elevated driveways, no longer crashes down off sharp drop offs, and no longer gets squirlly on steel grate bridges. I'm impressed enough to consider getting the rear shocks to match.

I did a search for about a half hour and everything was talking about lifted trucks shocks, and I didn't see anything referencing if the Stock shocks were not wore out, would a good quality aftermarket shock make me feel a difference in the ride quality. It looks like Bilstein will be my choice , no one mentions Elderbrock, I am hoping my ride will be a little smoother. Thanks

Actually replaced them at 9000 miles, but the rebound damping was practically non-existent. Amazing isn't it :-)

The Bilstiens were worth it.
