Why are you opposed to using Ranger leafs? Maybe he wants to be custom and have somethin nobody else has. If there is a will there is a way. I have personally seen the flex on a crawler that sports Ranger 3-pack leafs in the front and its amazingly effective. I am posting pics of it later today. You say that coils ride and flex better, thats merely your opinion. Maybe they do, maybe they dont. I just go by what I have personally experienced and seen with my own eyes.

dont complain about someone elses opinion with your own, makes you look like a retard...
i am opposed to Ranger leafs because that is a cheap way out and there are a ton of better/cheaper leafs out there to use for the front axle IF you really are dead set on leafs.....

I don't see anything wrong with using ranger leafs. They are cheap and effective. Maybe he just doesn't want coils. Not everyone wants coils for their SAS.
As far as leafs being leafs, he's right. It doesn't matter if it was designed for front or back, they can be used either way, there is no difference in design. There is a difference is how high they are designed to lift, but if you're not looking for height then a Ranger pack will suit you well, and probably ride fairly well with the weight of a motor on top of them. They will also flex well, I see no problem with that.

actual i have fella. Been to numerous rock crawl competitions and well over 80% of them have COILovers, not leaf springs.
For instance: (this is a quick Google search)
and for the record, so what if my truck doesn't see mud......do i have to prove anything to you with MY truck nope sure dont.....i have an offroad vehicle and it isn't my Ranger.......so please keep your trap shut until you know what you are talking about.
Edit: fixed first picture.

you don't have to do a 4 link to run coils.....you can swap in the EXACT suspension out of a '77-'79 F-150 (radius arms, radius arm brackets)......

Modified Stock Class you have to run stock style suspension. Guess how many guys run YJs and CJs and Toyota pickups. Most of them.
Formula Toy is leafs only front and rear.
The rigs you have shown would be Pro modifieds or Unlimited class buggies. They are the farthest thing from a "real" rig.

I wonder how the thousands of people who drive their Leaf spring front vehicles everyday are dealing with it?
