sport track front end?

how much of the sport trac front suspension can be put on a ranger? its over 2 inches wider, and i think if done right could look badass for cheap, would it be a relatively easy swap?

You are going to have to be more specific. Which year Sport Trac are you referring to?
The 2001-2005 Sport Trac shares the front suspension/drivetrain with the 01-current Ranger, as well as 95-01 Explorer.
It isn't wider or different in any way, except possibly a larger sway bar and different spring rates on the torsion bars.

The newer sport trac is completely different than the Ranger, it's based on the 02+ Explorer and is not compatible.

Is the body width wider than a Ranger?

I do not think the body is wider. It is shaped differently so it is hard to compare straight across, but the general dimensions are pretty well the same.
