springs, air bags for suspension

What year Explorer springs would fit a 2001 Ranger XLT SuperCab step side? I'm not sure what Ford calls the bed styles anymore. I have the one that has the little step between the cab and the wheel well. Which means I have the really small interior dimension bed.

Have anyone used the air bag systems? Idon't know the company names that make them besides Firestone. I need to do something to provide extra support when towing, or even carrying stuff in the bed. While at the same time, I don't want to stiffen the suspension for riding around with a nearly empty bed. I'm starting to wonder if the add-a-leaf or helper springs is the answer. I keep hearing they will stiffen suspension for harsher ride.

I currently have 16" rims and LT245/75x16 tires. I will be replacing the tires before winter, so I am considering 15" rims and I have no idea what size tires. I undersand the reason for the 15" rim system which allows for more air in the tires adding cushioning when off road, or something like that. I see so many different sizes on here that I am totally confused...

Also, living in Colorado I don't want to go super wide tires due to our winters. I live at 8500 feet and often drive up to 11,000 or 12,000feet.Last winter we had over 6feet of snow and had snow on the ground from Oct-May. We even had 2" of snow in July.

hmm can't thing of anything else for this post anyway.

thanks in advance,

Any info appecaited.
