(this list is for my waggy axle so in your case any diskbrake backing plate from a chevy 44 would work.)

Alright I have one question. Are you leaving the 2.3 in the truck? And ifso how are you going to have a transfer case without some kind of tranny swap.I only ask this because I would definately be interested in a SAS but don't really want to engine swap my truck to do it.I like my engine(2.3 DOHC Duratec)and have almost as much hp as a 3.0,but I have no idea how I would go about doing this without some kind of engine or tranny swap. And if I had to swap the engine then that kinda kills the affordability of this swap versus just buying a 4x4 to start with.If you already posted this info then I just missed it,but this is the only thing that would really concern me with this swap in my truck .

Ive been told that i can use a 2.3t bellhousing from a turbocoupe. In which i can find a earlier model s10 with a t5 and transfer case to bolt up to the bellhousing. and i should be good to go. if not, im sure i can find some other way to make it 4wd.

Its about time to come over here. More info to be had on lifted trucks. Ill let you know on days that i plan on doing lots of work if you wanna stop by and check it out, or after i get the stuff under the truck.

Thats cool man.Yeah I'm definately interested in seeing it in person. My thing is my truck has the new 2.3 so i guess i'll just have to figure somethin out.4.0 swaps can be expensive and 3.0 is less expensive but barely have more h/p than I do.

This question may make me sound like an idiot but is there any way to mount a t-case to my tranny or is this completely out of the question?Like i've said before this is the only part of this that i think will give me a prob. All the suspension I have no doubt i can do.But in order to keep the cost down I do not want to swap my engine.

I do not want to sound like I don't want to do this the right way but I also don't want to spend money thats not needed.

My truck has the 3.0 and I have no problem out-wheeling v8 and one-ton equiped rigs.

Yeah I've seen your truck man(read the whole thread on the swap),completely badass.I have no doubt the 3.0 would be fine power wise, especially for what I would be doing with it,but I just didn't want to have to spend the money for an engine swap that won't really give me much more power.

I think what I will do is simply get the axle and all the suspension parts and do that and the steering first then worry about the 4wd part of it.Whether I can work something out with my engine or I have to swap it wont really be a big deal.It will still be cheaper than buying a new truck seeing as mine is paid for.I was simply checking to see if there was any way to use my engine and tranny.

now thats just for my mud truck but im sure you could make one that looks better. it works great but i was in a hurry to get it done.
Do you have any different pics of the adapter. My fabrication skills aren't the best,I can weld but the actual fab would be done by a friend of mine.So if you have better pics for him to look at that would be cool.
