stock shackle removal
 

I ordered Springtech chevy drop shackles and am ready to install. How do you get to the nut on the top bolt of the shackle to remove the stock one? Do you have to remove the bed to do it?

Any installation instructions would be great. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch.

top is just a bolt..the nut locks itself..jack the truck up..put the frame on stands..jack up the rear to get the weight off the axle..and unbolt should come right out then jack up the rear to get bolts to align..and take stands off frame..BAM your done (:

So I don't have to get a wrench on the hidden nut? Are you saying it's a lock nut welded to the bracket?

you might have to wiggle it around when trying to reinstall, but it locks itself in so no need for a wrench on it
