2002 ford ranger rear suspension upgrades for hauling
Ok so this summer i plan to start hauling rocks and other stuff for a small business. I am staying within the legal limits but i want to upgrade my rear suspension to better withstand weight in the back. I am considering replacing the rear spring leaf, and installing a coil-over shock. Is there a certain vehicle that could supply compatible parts instead of me having to buy brand new parts. Or any other modifications so that i can get a better ride with a lot of weight in the back. I am considering spacers to lower the center of gravity and spread the load out. I am almost certain that the legal carrying/towing capacity of a 2002 ford ranger is around 2000 pounds and i want to maximize the long term life of the suspension of my ranger. What is best to do?

I found this thread that says that you can replace the leaf springs with a ford explorer's leaf springs

I believe springs for any year ranger will fit your 02, but 93 and newer for sure.
Also pre 2002 explorer springs, if you're interested in that swap.
As far as the Chevy 64 swap, I believe and of the OBS years will work. And you'll want springs from a C series, not a K series. (The 4x4s got stiffer spring packs that would probably too stiff for a ranger)
