HELP! Broke a spindle shaft!!! (pics of course...)

Well, you play you pay.

Below you'll find some pics off my cell phone. Happened at a good spot really. I was a mile and a half from home, and it happened at like 2 mph as I started to turn after stopping at an intersection.

Probably I damaged the spindle shaft when I jumped the truck last April, and it's just taken time for stress to run the break to where it snapped.

I'm thanking God heavily! It could have gone at 70 mph on the highway, or in the middle of Wharton!

So: anyone have a set of lift spindles for sale? Looks like I'm going to need them. That's what the "HELP!" was about, lol.

Enjoy the carnage!

whats the alternative for a suspension lift then? I think it has more to do with the backspacing of the wheel doesn't it?

Ha! Wouldn't I love that, but I'm not ready and I need to get the truck back on the road.

ya i was talking to D about that...need a hand griggs lol

john here is Fab spindles the only problem is they push out your track width in the front it might be a problem with clearning your fenders with the 35's

Bah. Everyone knows that, Negative Nellie. We still wheel them anyway. Remember also that the jump was NOT on purpose, lol. It was just supposed to be a dramatic "roaring over the top" that got out of hand.

I knew they could break when I bought them. The only thing I'd do different is to inspect them after that kind of stress and see if anything could be seen that would have allowed me to PLAN the replacement.

I'll have to get a nice pic of the remaining pieces and see if Bob has any comment since he's an M.E. and might recognize some kind of stress pattern.

Actuallly the Doetsch push the track width out also. I think it would be hard to make a lift spindle that didn't, actually.

Thanks though, Zach!!!

I just PM'd the guy. Now I'll go check out new prices again on eBay I guess.

Besides spindles, I need a brake bracket, caliper, rotor might be salvageable believe it or not. New bearings, new flex brake line, and so forth.

Found a guy on eBay selling shaft replacements and I messaged him asking if they fit my spindles. A spindle replacement would be $95 shipped. Still under $200 and a lot easier repair doing both if they fit. Guess I'll see when/if they reply.
