suspension lift

Im looking into doing a suspension lift on my truck, most likely a spindle lift. What I want to know is how much knowledge do you need to know in order to do this lift yourself. I dont exactly know everything there is to know about my truck, so I dont know if it would be possible to do this myself. Also, if I decided to bring it to a professional, how much do they usually charge for installing a 3 inch lift?

pm me and ill give you my summary... i installed it my self, im good with cars but you can learn how to do this and save about $500 at least (not to have to take it to get it done professionally)...

you will most likely have to do spindles, but i need the specs on the truck...2wd? trosion bar? 3.0L? everything... reg cab?

i did mine and yeah it was difficult, but i enjoyed doing it. took me a full day... it really was not hard, the directions were somewhat unclear... each different truck has their own problems they will run into.. we had instances where i didnt have the correct tools, sumthin didnt fit right, etc. but it all worked out... the biggest thing is follow the directions, take your time, BE PATIENT AND DONT GET FRUSTRATED

i got my Fabtech spindles kit (4 shocks, rear AALs, spindles and all hardware for install) at the 4wheel parts Truckfest for $650... shop around for it... alot of places have the same kit for a lot cheaper than other places..

performancelifts.com is good too

If you are looking at doing a spindle lift, it's not as daunting as you'd think. Do you have any friends who are relatively familiar with trucks? I'd say if you take your time and go slow, you could get it done in a day with relatively few hang-ups. If you can post up more about your truck (particularly whether you have torsion bar or coil spring suspension... or atleast what year and model your truck is) then we can give you better instruction!

for you 4x4 guys, the superlift 4" is really the only option.. Camburg has a lift, but its 2500 bucks and at age 17, you cant do that... the superlift is 1500, plus you gotta figure in installation, tires, and rims... you need to read and do the research cuz there are a lot of things you have to consider and understand that you may very well end up spendin way more money than you think you're going to... for you i might suggest a body lift to start

body lift would probably be better since the superlift does not really give you any better performance
