Tertiary damage
Tertiary damage
Hello,
Yesterday my exhaustion proved too much and I drove out of the shop with my front lugs way under torqued. 94 Ranger 4x4. Front drivers side wheel fell off doing about 15-20 km/h. The rotor and dust shield are clearly fucked. Everything else seems fine, but was hoping someone could give me some inside as to where the impact could create some hard to see damage. Going to pull the rotor off and check the steering knuckle today, but what else should I look at? A quick inspection and everything looks pretty good, the rotor even spun along the ground for the 50 ft or so I was still moving. It looks somewhat salvageable but I'm going to replace it for good measure. Any thoughts? I had a look around but can't find anyone posting any situation the same as mine.
Thanks

You posted this 154 days ago. I'm going through old posts as I'm new to the Ranger.
Since you were rolling along when the wheel separated you were still on 3.
I bet when the rotor contacted the ground it just rolled or kept rolling causing the damage you described.
How did your repair go?
