Opinions on Skyjacker leaf springs

Its been awhile since I have been on, but I am back of the swing of things and ready to start working on my truck again.

I am looking for opinions on the Skyjacker leaf springs, mainly the FR36. Right now I have the stock leaf pack with a 2" long AAL a 2" short AAL, and a Chevy shackle. I like the height I have, but it rides like complete crap.

I have a buddy who is going to help me do the coilover swap up front, and he wants to do a 4-link and coilovers in the rear, but I am not ready to fork over that kind of money if I can get a good ride out of this leaf pack.

I have the FR36's and they are great leaf springs.. I am very happy with them... they're "softish" and they still handle a full load in the bed with no problem!!

Theyre great! best way to lift the rear end... but they are also the most expensive option

i have 6 inch soft rides in the back

1 million times better than stock
idk about their other stuff

The ride is excellent! I definitely recommend them.

Thanks man, its was a rough year and half with no job. Back in the swing of things again though, and luckily have some friends to help me out. We all worked at a custom shop, mostley air ride stuff, but its all the same concept. We all sorta got tired of not making any money while the owner was rolling in it, and left. We all got real jobs and are just messing with stuff on the side. We got a shop that a buddy has for his AC company, and he has bought a nice TIG and MIG, and is looking for a plasma and a small lathe, can you say Uniball uppers coming?

Gonna finally get the truck the way I want it and not spend a fortune.

Thanks for the pic KLC, exacltey the way I want it, with the Fox shocks and all. Do you have the factory block though or did you pull it out? If so can you get me a measure meant to the top center of the wheel well?

I remember you working at a custom shop but i didnt realize you got out of it. Looks like things are in your favor now. Hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted on it. I know some guys could use that uniball upper!

No factory block, just the 6" lift leafsprings. With the way the leafsprings are arched you will not have to worry about a bumpstop. Have you looked into the Fox shocks yet? I ask because they are very expensive. Do you still want me to get that measurement? If so, I can get it tomorrow.

Yeah we have bought some for another truck we are working on so I know the Fox's are not cheap, but they are good and I am going to run them up front, so I wanna run them all around. Luckily we have a slight hook up from previous contacts and can get them for an ok price, about $480 for the chrome is what we paid on the last ones.

Don't worry about the measurement, I think I have a good idea what I need to do to keep everything where it is now, I have the block, a chevy shackle, plus the AAL's. The spring perch we welded on the exploder rear sits a bit higher, so that may be the only thing that throws me, but me can adjust the front up if we need to.
