Torsion bar arrow

Does the arrow on the end

of the torsion bar face the front or back of the truck. Bought used bars and need to install them in the correct direction.

There is no front or back, they look the same on both ends. The arrow denotes the factory direction of rotation, and I would put the bars in to match the way they originally rotated. Also, there's left and right, because the torsion bars are not the same length. Hopefully you bought B or 1 code bars because the F bars have a bad tendency of sagging, which I assume is why you're replacing yours. Even the B bars aren't that great.

Code 1 or B the same?

If I buy new bars, do they both need to be code 1 or B bars or is it same same?

[QUOTE=Fordzilla80;2145995]There is no front or back, they're the same on both ends, and no matter how you install them, they will still rotate in the same direction. What matters is left and right, because the torsion bars are not the same length. Hopefully you bought B or 1 code bars because the F bars have a bad tendency of sagging, which I assume is why you're replacing yours. Even the B bars aren't that great.

You want the same spring rate on both sides, so don't mix them.
