FX4 Level II Superlift question

Getting ready to do my lift just waiting on the kit to get here, Now I am checking things out to see what other mods I am going to have to make, Has anyone who has done the lift on a FX 4 level II modified there front stock skid plate so the it will work with the superlift
and if so do you have any pictures you can post please I think it can be done by stretching out the top of the factory plate just not sure how it will attach at lower cross member after the raise if anyone has done this can you give me some ideas not that my own wont work but yours might be easier and or better than mine thanks

I own the normal FX4. Just buy the super lift skid plate. It mounts right to the new cross members and goes right in to the old skid plate.

The stock skid will work for the superlift if I recall. Where it mounts, is still fully exposed and away from the LCA drops. I know I've seen a few SL'd trucks with the stock skid still there.

Or...do what I'm gonna do....full custom that'll wrap under the SL crossmembers. The superlift skid is stupid, dumb, ugly, and way overpriced.

Rangers factory skid plate is def not a skid plate at all its a splash shield lol

Redneckstone = Nice ride What size wheels you running 10 X15's any rub problems
want to run 10 X 15 my self like a deep wheel just not planning on a BL at this time and really don't want to be rubbing plan is to run 33's

Rangerextreme = Point well taken I meant the splash deflector shield

I was just womdering I already had thought in my mind that I was going to have to Fabricate something up was just fishing for ideas

No prob.


Truck pictured is an old member's truck, not who posted the pic. It was Superlift + bodylift on 15x10 wheels and 35x12.50 tires.

With the setup you want to run, you'll be perfectly fine with 33's. TONS run that exact setup.

Cool thanks I thought they where 15X10
yeah really not planning on BL just SL
and running 15 X 10 with 33 12's

no modding to front skid. this is the best pic that shows how the factory skid bolts up with sl kit. if you want the skid to go down to the sl cross members you have to make one, or buy the superlift skid to go with the factory one.

im likeing the idea of a custom one that wraps under the superlift shane. i too have thought of doing the same thing

Since the frame/suspension cross members are static, I would think a piece of Aluminum Diamond Plate 1/8 or 3/16" will do, cut it to fit allow for mounting tabs; mounted on a framework made out of either angle stock or square tubing.
The alum will allow the skip to slide if it makes contact with a rock or other piece of nature, the framework will give it the strength.

I agree about the SL Skid, over priced for what you get, NWI.
