year range for chevy leafs?
So i searched, and i cant find exactly what i want to know. Im going to the junk yard this weekend and might pick up some chevy leafs. I thought i read that you needed a certain year.? I know that they are longer and i will have to move my shackles.
Also are they a good idea if i want more travel. I assume so since they are longer. and if anyone knows about how much lift they give that would be nice. And how stiff are they? probably no worse than an AAL?

The 63" Chevy springs will allow more travel but you cannot take advantage of it unless you install shocks with more travel.
The year range is 88~98. K1500 (4x4) springs are 5-leaf; C1500 (2WD) are 4-leaf and probably more closely matched to the weight of a Ranger. Either will fit once the forward spring hangers are relocated. Both will lift the rear of the truck - my 2WD springs were good for 2~3" of lift. The 2WD springs are firmer than the stockers and more difficult to bottom with weight in the box. I haven’t tried them but one would have to assume that the 4x4 springs are firmer yet.
The mount for the parking brake cable is on the DS spring hanger pivot bolt. When the hanger gets moved ~6" forward, the P-brake cable will not work without modification.
