Removing the torsion bars?
Hey everyone, I'm really getting the idea in my head of bagging my truck, but I need some advice/info.
How do I remove the torsion bars to put in a bag set-up in the front? And does anyone know a lot about bagging and can build me a little kit, cuz I don't know what all I need! THANKS

What you need is a 2-jaw gear puller. I wish I'd remembered to take pictures of that when I did my superlift... this gets asked all the time.
Anyways, the puller is basically a big long threaded bolt that goes through a piece of metal that has 2 arms attached to it. First remove the torsion bar bolts that you use to crank the torsion bars. The metal piece/bar thing that the bolt threads into has to come out in order to get the torsions out. You latch the arms onto the bracket where the torsion bar adjuster arm is, and tighten the bolt down so that the bolt is pushing on the adjuster arm. Tighten the bolt down far enough that it pushes the adjuster arm all the way off the metal piece it sits on so that you can slide that piece out (use pliers in case the puller slips!) and then as you loosen the bolt on the adjuster arm it will take all the pressure off the torsion bar. After that, you can drop the arm and adjuster out and pull the t-bar out of the front a-arm.
Another option is to completely remove the lower control arm, both from the spindle and from the cross-member. Doing so takes all the pressure off the torsion bar and it will just fall out once you remove the adjuster bolt and the metal piece it threads into.
As far as bags, I don't know exactly what you'd need. Perhaps check out some S-10 sites or RPS to see. There are lots more bagged trucks over there!
