Replacing inner tie rods

I've searched but there's no solid answer that I found.

How do I get off the inner tie rods? I need to replace them while i'm doing lower ball joints, then alignment since i've got new tires and changed these parts.

First off, do I just cut the rubber boot off that is over the inner tie rods?
The moog replacement has a large nut on the end, so i'm guessing that I just unthread the current tie rod from the rack and screw this new one back on?

I figured i'd ask first before I go cutting off the inner tie rod boot and possibly damage it for no reason.

Cut the metal rings on the boots. Then buy some hose clamps or use zip ties. Also there is a special tool to get them off. Otherwise you have to pull the whole rack which is a pain. And you have to bleed the whole steering system which is even more of a pain. Id get the tool.

...I can always count on you to provide a good answer Zach! Thanks

Where can I get this tool? Is it a rentable tool from Autozone or any major parts' stores?

I definitely don't want to pull the whole rack or bleed it.

turning to full lock and using a pipe wrench also works. Did that on the old truck, but in hindsight I'm spending the 20-30 bucks for the tool next time. Would have made it easy!
