i have a 96 ranger 3.0 5 speed 4x4. im thanking of puting a lift on it. i no were a 6 inch lift is and i was going to go 33 with it. but another guy has a 9 inch lift and 35. i even thought of going with a 2 inch level kit and 31 but as you may no 3.0 ant no power house and l live around alot of mountains to go up and down and i was wondering if you all could tell me what gears i would have to go with and were could i get them and how can i tell if i got the 7.5 or the 8.8 and what about the front end ring and pinon? thanks

 

im also thanking of doing a 2 inch level kit and 31s.i looked at my door jam and it says my truck came factory with 215 and it has 235 on it now and it is no way nere a power house lol. but if i went with 31 what gear ratio would i have to go to.

ok thanks it is my daily driver i very seldom take it back in the woods. but i realy would like to have 33 or maybe 35s. do you no were i can buy a ring and pinon and were i can get one for the front i have looked on jegs but i can tell what to look for. thanks

I'd say it will be a turd
33's=4.56's
35's=4.88's
There should be a tab on the diff cover that will say, if not take the diff cover off and measure the ring gear. How I would do it.

so you saying with 31 and a 410 gear it will be a turd. it came with 215 factory and it has 235 on it and i thank it has the 7.5 rear end. and what about the front end how could u tell what size it is?
