Going outside the recommended limitations

Have been in discussions with the guys at Doetsch about their lift kit packages.

Most of their kits are recommending a 15x8 rim, no bigger than a 32x11.5x15 tire.

What's the risk of going to a bigger rim, say a 15x10 with a 33x12.50x15 tire? Are they more concerned with rubbing?

From the looks of what I've seen, many have gone that way and went bigger and wider than that.

So what gives? Even if it's not Doetsch, what about other models. Why is there a "maximum" or "recommended" limit?

Hmmm.....I'll have to ask them if that other page I posted is for XLT's, XL's only (not edge's).....

Weird.

well, i'm pretty sure that they are for non-edge's because it doesn't specify edge in the desciption and because it says coils, and edges dont have coils

They do it to cover their @$$s.
Just as the RCD 4x4 kit only recommends 33x12.5 tires. That way, if somone messes up their truck by putting bigger then the recommended tire size on their truck, there is no legal battle because they exceeded the recommended Factory tire size suggested.

Agreed. It's all about liability.

I'm outside the limits -- if they break, then I can't sue them.

Hope they don't break, lol.

John we both know you'd end up finding some legal loophold that puts them at fault
