What shocks for will work with my double lifted truck?
Tax season is coming up and my rig needs new tires and shocks. I have the factory SL shocks right now but they suck and are far gone. I would like to be able to put Bilstein shocks on but I dont want to spend 500+ on shocks and still have to buy new tires. What are some cheaper brands that I can get that will work for a truck with a 2.25in SL lift and a 3in body lift?

Don't buy Sensatracs! They are Junk! I replaced my stock shocks that had 160k on them with Sensatracs and it was more like a Downgrade haha. You feel every small pebble on the road ha. Just My opinion. I just bought Bilsteins and love them, but Rancho is also another good choice as well as KYB. Can't help you with measurements though since I'm only BL'ed

isnt the purpose of shocks to keep the tires on the ground? I.E. feel every pebble lol its supposed to be stiff. youre driving a ranger. not an audi

Or here are some Bilstein's for a 2wd with 3-6" of lift which would be 1-3" lift on a 4x4. Not sure if the 2wd shocks are the same as the 4x4 ones but I think they are.

How about these Procomp Shocks?

I called superlift and priced replacement shocks.....47.00 bucks a piece, thats $188 for a set of 4 cheap *** shocks that ruined my front tires.

was it the shcoks that ruined your tires or was it allignment related?
how are the superlift shocks?
I am in need of longer shocks aswell and would like to be on the budget side and the long side... like 2-6 inches lift on FX4
not the bilstiens 1-3 inch lift... just sounds so limiting and i'd rather have a bit more that less, i doubt i'll ever max out the shocks as long as i dont go TOO long
any experience/ ideas?

Here is what I want to so and need assurance that it will work. My truck has 2.25in of suspension lift, I do metal fab at work and I know I could make a extension for the front so i can run factory length shocks. If I made a 2.25in extension for the front will that work for factory shocks?
The shocks ruined my tires, they were cupped bad and thats only can be done by shocks. Superlift shocks are **** quality to be honest, they are made cheap but sell them to you for $190 bucks for 4. The reason they get away with it is cause superlift is the ONLY company in the world that makes shocks for the 98+ lifted ford rangers that fit without modification.

Im going to have to disagree about the superlift shocks. They were too bouncy offroad and just felt like cheap made shocks. Thats why Im going to make a extensions for the front so I have alot more options on shocks and be able to buy them at any parts store. They also will be alot cheaper than buying lifted shocks. Your right I will never find a superlift shock for cheaper cause superlift is the only shock out there made for 98+ lifted rangers.
