Fabtech Edge Spindle Lift Question

Hey, just picked up a set of Fabtech spindles for an edge and i had a question...

The bolt that pinches in the upper ball joint is a allen bolt (meaning it uses an angle bit on one side). Now when we installed a spindle lift on my XLT i used grade 8 bolts/nuts.

So my question is, is the allen bolt what comes with the kit? or did the kid before me just think that was a better idea?

The reason im against it, is we used an impact to replace and also tighten the bolt, and i dont want to be holding an allen wrench when i do that

heres some pics:

My superlift re-used the stock grade 8 bolt that held the stock steering knuckle in. I don't like the idea of using an allen bolt for that at all. I'd get some grade 8s.

i would get some grade 8's......if you try to hold an allen wrench when hitting that with an impact, it will rip your hands to shreads....

That the same thing my spindles came with new. If you want to use the allen then you can just use a long breaker bar to hold it that way you get more leverage.

i have allen bits that fit a rachet. if i was to keep those bolts, thats what id use to hold them. and you dont hafta use an impact to re-install them either. works great to get em out when theyre rusted, but not needed on install if you choose not to.

It's original. It's just a pinch bolt -- it's not carrying the weight of the truck or anything, lol. You can use it with not difficulty -- grade 8 is not necessary for where that thing is used.

The upper arm just follows the suspension up and down and the main loading is laterally where the force is between the spindle and the ball joint stud that sticks down. That bolt has very, very little stress applied to it and you need not OVER TIGHTEN it as some have.
