Welcome to the forum
You will need to look at your front suspension to confirm you have Coil Springs, some 1998 and up Ranger 2WD did come with Torsion Bar
Ranger front suspension over the years seen here: https://www.therangerstation.com/how...nt-suspension/
In 1998 4x4s got torsion bars, and some 2WD models as well
There is no real change in weight with the Turbo engine so suspension is fine as is, they are both Lima(pinto) engines
But if you want to "Lift" the truck for larger tires there are a few options
Suspension lifts, raises Frame up higher for more ground clearance
Body Lifts, frame stays at same height but body is raise up higher above the frame using spacers and longer bolts
Or both
Raising frame or body allows larger diameter tires so you do gain ground clearance from that as well
If you have coil springs then it is called an IFS suspension, so look for lifts for 1998 and up IFS Rangers
Torsion Bar is TTB suspension

got it
Thank you for responding. So I have IFS I was hoping for specific brands of shocks that are high quality and perform well , because I hope to do alot of mountain driving and need something that can take a beating and still handle well on the road , I was thinking about a lift as well but I don't want it to be too tall. I'm trying to build a prerunner type ranger , any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated
