Rear axle alignment is off. Solutions?
I was staring at my truck tonight, and noticed my rear tire on the passenger side sticks out 1/2 - 1 inch further than my driver side... I measured from the inside of the tire to frame and sure enough, a little less than an inch off. This is bugging me bad. Are my leafs twisted? Did the axle come out of alignment where the u-bolts and spring packs attach? hmmm truck is in perfect alignment, drives straight, doesn't dog tail. Just looks off. I fixed the ranger lean with a little t-bar adjustment and now I'm tackling this issue. any input would be great.

remove the u bolts and loosen the center pin and let everything relax and straighten the leafs. reassemble, torque the u bolts down or replace them and take it to have the thrust angle checked to see how far it is really off, the bed could be crooked after the BL so that isnt an accurate measuring point

not exactly true. newer springs have less sag in them, but these springs are original and the bolts on the packs haven't been touched. I'm gonna jack the truck up tomorrow of this weekend and take the wheels off and loosen all the bolts on the leaf packs and move it over a smidgen.I'm pretty sure its just a little tweaked. no big deal. Me and the texan (JohnBaum13) drank a 6 beers each staring at it. lol

hmm, yeah not to say its normal or anything but i was chatting with another Ranger owner and he said that his overload leafs were a bit crooked on his 05 and he had to straighten them out... after taking a quick peek at mine (08) i noticed that mine were slightly off as well.. not quite as much as yours but not straight either... perhaps over time they start to shift a bit...?? anyone else?

actually it is.. overloads do that a lot.. take a hammer to it.
caliper? thats one hugeeee caliper.
are you sure you measured to the exact same part on the tire?
