I would like to know if I can remove the shackles on my 93 ranger, I made new spring holders and would like to bolt the rear springs to my spring boxes and then weld the box to the frame, Its fine if it rides stiff. Also, how much can I cut the front springs to lower this thing, im not worried about ride.

 

here an idea why not just take the rear hangers and shackles cut off the rivets and bolt them down upside down like we all do to lower the truck exactly 2" and it will still ride just the same

the rear hangers are gone(rusted) and there is one rusted shackle left

 

you need some type of shackle to take up the stretch on the rear springs.

 

go to the dealer and order the hanger then its only $25, its a very common problem on rangers

 

what size bolts are on the shackles, im changing mine but dont have sockets to fit so need to go buy,
