T-bar swap question
Alright, since I'm just bought some #1 t-bars (thx HighRollerII) I'm going to be putting them in. To the people that have taken t-bars out or swapped them, did you use the gear puller tool or did you use something else.
Also if the gear puller is the only way too go, do you know if there is somewhere that I can rent the tool, I looked at home depot but couldn't find any gear pullers.
They have them at sears, but I don't know if you can rent tools from there or not. I would rather not buy a $40 tool that I'm going to use once and never again. I guess if I had to I could use it carefully and take it back
Also if anybody has any pics of the process that would be good, the how-to on generation-edge doesn't have pics anymore.
Here is a pic of the tool

I'd read that sometimes you could get the bars out by letting the suspension hang at full droop with the shocks disconnected, but it wasn't enough for mine. I grabbed my stock bottle jack and stuck a short socket extension on top of it (vertically) and jacked it up just a tad......worked wonderfully and it was free........

Well got off work early today so decided to tackle it. Pretty easy process, the thing that took the longest was getting my damn transfer case skid back on haha. anyway specs
After I put them in I had gained about 2 inches but after it settled it is an inch higher all around, but if I want i still have lots of thread left. So I can probably get another inch if I really want to. I think it rides better now with the #1's then the b bars, but I haven't really drove around a lot yet.
So I recommend swapping to 1's if you don't have them if you add a bumper or winch or something like that to the front.
and now I have some b rated bars if anybody wants them.
