What size tires to run with 16x8 wheel

Hey guys quick question, i found a hell of a bargain on some pro comp 16x8's, they match my bolt pattern and everything but i want to use some off road tires on them. What size tire do you suggest running??? I have a stock wheel setup on an '04 Ranger XLT 3.0L 2WD so its somewhat low im looking to give it some height without a suspenison, lift, or leveling kit and with out my truck looking stupid. Let me know what you think.!!!

The answer depends on what you intend to do with the truck ?

Decide on what tire you want first.
Look at load ratings, closely, and then decide if a 16” tire/wheel will work for you.

I went the 16” route for my 4x, mistake, got some KM2, thinking I could always lower the pressure and get the ride where I want it, NOT ! Tire wear came in to the picture, not good wear, bad wear, the tire tread is almost gone in a couple of years.

IF I do it again, which I probably will, I will go 15” because the more aggressive tire threads in the 15” range have a lower load rating and will ride better.

I know you are 2WD and I do not know what the load ratings are so just find your tire first, then decide if these 16” rims are right for your truck.

All I need to know is what you suggest as far as tires that would fit on a 16x8. I want an offroad/lifted kind of look, for tires and what will fit.

KM2s will give you a good off roader look.

They are sold in 16" sizes.

Good luck...

i also have E load tires on a 16" rim but after almost two years, i still have half or more tread. i do agree about airing down as the side wall is thicker so they down air down as much.

you want the largest tire you can fit? look at your door sticker (its probably gonna show a 15" rim as they came stock on most 2wd's), take that tire size and find an online calculator showing new size next to old size and find something close. if you were interested in lifting it w/ a cheap body lift, id recommend something in the 31-33" range.

why dont you want any type of lift? im not a big fan of BL's but this FORD RANGER Performance Accessories Body Lift Kits 833 - SummitRacing.com is cheap but doesnt have bumper brackets.
this one does FORD RANGER Summit Racing® 7800000 Body Lift Kits SUM-7888300 - SummitRacing.com.
i dunno you financial situation but if you just bout rims, are looking at tires an extra $150 doesnt seem like a lot. you might even find a used BL for 1/3 of those prices.

i dont know anything about 2wds and which spindle lift is best so i cant offer anything there.
