First long trip...
...In my Ranger. I've made this trip a number of times, although it has been several years. But this will be my first long trip in my 2003 Ranger. I just got the truck first part of August and have been doing stuff to it to make it comfortable for a long drive and also ensure the maintenance is up to date on it. It has just under 120,000 miles on it. I'm driving it from Phoenix, Arizona to Rochester, Minnesota. About 1700 miles one way. I'm not too worried about it, the truck runs good. Just wish me luck!!

Long trips like that are good for taking mileage readings. You can fill up whenever "something" changes.
For example, you can fill up after going through a miserable slow stretch of road work and isolate the "bad mileage". Have a nice trip and get back to us if you generate any usable data. |
I am officially home. I drove over 5,000 miles total. On the way up I did decent fuel mileage, with my best being 25mpg.
No issues really except that I blew 5 fuses on my trip. I'm not sure what caused them to go. 1 was by itself. and the other 4 were at the same time. After I replaced them all, I've had no other issues with them. |
I always enjoy open road cross country trips, as long as no one in the car talks\complains to much!
Which fuses blew? |
I drove by myself, so no one to talk or complain to except myself. LOL
The first one that blew was the reverse/heater blower fuse. The other ones, were in regards to the dash gauge lights. |
