very nice ben!

darkstar_420 01-23-2010 11:50 AM

Notice the hard shifts, that is exactly what blew the tranny in my buddies 04 f150 with an edge.

Lord Of War 01-23-2010 11:56 AM

It does seem to shift pretty hard. Besides that, it looks pretty fast.

Toms994x4 01-23-2010 12:05 PM

What the hell is the point? It's a damn full size 4x4 truck.

04blackedge 01-23-2010 12:39 PM

You can adjust the shift pressure with the Edge, I lessened mine because of the hard shifts.

russian 01-23-2010 12:39 PM

Shifts better in the first vid, but nice truck.

David N 01-23-2010 12:53 PM

Yes. I dont know about on Ford gassers, but I know Edge products are hell on Ford Diesel Transmissions...

Jimmeh 01-23-2010 12:53 PM

When did you get an F150?

Lazler 01-23-2010 12:57 PM

about 2 weeks ago jimmeh lol

Jimmeh 01-23-2010 01:01 PM

Damnit, I need to check out the site more often, lol.

korey89 01-23-2010 01:12 PM

Yep, friend has a 01 7.3l with a Edge Evolution and it killed his. Had to spend like $3,500+ and rebuild/upgrade his (billet converter, new valve body, shift kit, etc).

04blackedge 01-23-2010 01:14 PM

I haven't heard anyone post anything on F150online about getting tranny problems from the Edge. A lot of people get them upgraded to Gryphons though.

My buddy bought his second hand so i doubt he knows this, when he gets a new tranny put in imma have to tell him to do that.

04blackedge 01-23-2010 02:40 PM

Yeah the previous owner could have cranked the pressure up too. I had mine set to like +9 once and it made a terrible noise when it shifted so I dropped it down.

zabeard 01-23-2010 05:26 PM

lol um ok. pretty cool i guess but it is still a big heavy truck.

btw i cant say i have heard anyhting like that about the edges, though i have a gryphon and it does some crazy tranny stuff here and there.

TheBearJeweler 01-23-2010 06:03 PM

BTW my shift pressure is only +2 right now, the transmission was cold (104 F) and shifts much better once its warmed up. As far as tranny problems with an EDGE, I think "your buddies F150" had a bad tranny. I am sending mine off to Gryphon once I get some more mods. I bought this thing brand new for $150 off craigslist. I hope to get into the 5's with all the mods. I raced a stock reg long bed tundra 5.7 today... got owned. lol :disappoin

Yours does that too? Mine will randomly stutter or something like that, its very rare though. Maybe once a month

Tys 4x4 FTW 01-23-2010 06:08 PM

cool man

mine was doing that so I turned the rev limit up to 5700 and WOT shifts to 5300. Doesn't do it anymore woot!

i get a stutter when i driving down the road at a constant speed, its as if the pedal is too sensitive and the transmission tries to respond

mine did this on stage 3. I think the throttle response adjustment is too tight

zabeard 01-24-2010 04:33 PM

it is probably something like that. i never really mess with the settings on mine.
