My hobby.....check it

Nice!
Can't beat it though, I've gotten into racing hardcore this season. I may be building a car this summer/fall/winter for next year... a 63 Fairlane Wagon I'm looking to do a 302 in, C4, and a high performance cam... nothing serious, just something to take to the track and build on over time.
Here's my buddy's car up here... a 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer with a 76 Camaro subframe and a Big Block Chevy 454

Mine is a work in progress. I bought it for like 1300 last September. I gutted the interior (grey), replaced with all black (carpet and all) and added a custom rear seat delete. It was bone stock when I bought it. Only thing I've done to her, other than normal replacing of mechanical parts, is added the Mickey DR's, welds, skinnies, 410 gears, and a cai. I've only been to the track bout 4 times. First run ever was low 15's. Put the 410s and dr's on, 14.4. I'm going this wednesday to have some fun. It's just a project and a toy to have some fun. Long term....I want that baby in the 9's! LOL

Great to see another Stang owner on here. I have a 03 Mach 1 that I bought new back in August of 2003. When we lived closer to a 1/4 mile track, I raced every couple weeks at TnT. Now, there are no close tracks, so I'm lucky to run it twice a year. It spends more time at cruise ins & car shows now, but it's still fun. Here is a shot of mine at Memphis Motorsports when we lived in north MS. The vid is at a track rental day at Jackson, TN's 1/8 mile track. The track isn't anything spectacular, but we had the track to ourselves (Mustang club).

Very sweet Mach!! And yes that is a Ranger. He's a buddy from one of my race clubs. He was trying a new set up. That was both our first runs of the day, here's the slip
Now, by the end of the day he was running quite a bit faster. That is one bad *** Ranger! He used to have a 5.0 in it, he has since upgraded.

The silver one is definitely a bad *** stang! My 5.0 is all stock except gears and cai, so yeah, its still stock. My times are better up north at CCD than south @ US13 Dragway. I've got headers and an h-pipe in the works and gonna do a tad of suspension work and see where that takes me. And yeah, still stock converter. Its gonna be one of those lil projects, ya know, step by step and the progression documents. 13.99 and I gotta get me a helmet, so I'm already looking! LOL Plus I gotta drop a tad of engine weight (a/c going bye bye).

Bump an old thread to the top.
Last night was a fun night for me. Unfortunately all I have is the time slips to show for it... my buddy refused to take pictures and/or video of my truck.
My truck was running a little slower than normal last night, ran an 18.18 first time trial, 18.05 the second. It was still warm and the truck was still hot from the drive to the track, so I threw a guess at my dial in because my truck's habit is run slow in TT, run faster in eliminations. I dialed a 17.90, ran a 17.943, R/T of .068, and 60' of 2.650. The guy I was up against was in a 12.78 second Camaro to which I beat him by .0667 seconds.
The Ranger is between an average 17.91-17.95 truck, not bad for a stock 4.0L with 32" M/T's and 4.11's
Second round I had a tougher light, .256, and the truck ran a 17.997. The guy I was racing pulled around me at the end of the track, so I lost. Far better than last week where I ran a -.116 light and would have won in a double break out situation by 4/10ths of a second.
