Garmin DashCam and Backup Cam

Garmin DashCam and Backup Cam
Mounted a Garmin Drive Assist 51 w/Dash Cam and Backup camera to my 98 Ranger 4x4
Initial thoughts:
- Rear Camera is low quality as compared to modern cars equipped from the factory.
- Dash cam can't be adjusted vertically like it can be horizontally. In order to aim it vertically you have to tilt the whole unit. The problem is that I don't care so much for the angle when viewing the screen for GPS. It's tolerable.. just wish it had vertical adjustability.
- This is a great way to add modern GPS, dash cam, and backup camera to an old car!
- Through work I was able to get a hefty discount.
- Mounting the transmitter near the RH taillight worked out ok
- I ran the power cord down the passenger side A-Pillar.
- I chose to NOT hook it up to the reverse lights. Instead I have it powered all the time and switching to backup cam is only 2 icons deep. Also, when ignition on the rear camera comes on by default.
All in all I'm happy with it.

Because I trade cars often. Pretty sure I'll have this Garmin longer than I'll have the ranger.
btw, I actually bought this for my wife's car. I didn't like having it up so high for the dash cam to view properly. The screen is 5" in size and its kind of small for how cluttered Garmin has the icons sized and located. I like my old 5" garmin layout much better and have it mounted now as a place holder (in her car).
So for her car I'm going to get a 6" non-dashcam version and place it above and to the left of the radio. I'm also going to try to use an OEM camera instead of the Garmin B30 backup camera which has 2 things I don't like. 1. The horizontal field of view is too narrow. 2. The view quality is not good at all.
