16" Firestone A/T tires

I just purchase the Firestone A/T for my 06 ranger sport. As per the tire rack. com good ratings. Any comments on this tire would be appreciated.
Thanks

i have the firestone destination AT's on my F-150 and have been very happy with them so far. havent had them in the snow yet but a couple co-workers have them on there trucks and they both say they are great in the snow. they are on par with the BFG AT's in the ratings and i know those are great tires too, ive had a couple sets of them but the firestones are cheaper.

I know that the ranger tires got recalled too when that happened. And that is why I will never buy firestone.

those were the wilderness AT's and that was 10 years ago, i think they probably sorted out that issue by now, in fact they have closed the plant that manufactured the defective tires as a result of that recall. also it was partly ford fault that they failed because they specified that the tires be inflated to 26 PSI instead of the 32-35 psi that the tire MFG suggested.

I think the Wilderness A/Ts were discontinued quite awhile ago. As for other Firestones, my work car (an '09 HHR) made it 72,000 miles on its stock Firestone Affinity tires before they changed them about a month ago, never had an issue and they still had decent tread left but were starting to get noisy. Suprisingly enough, they replaced those with Firestone Firehawks...lol...look cool but I'm sure with a 2.2L I'll never be able to use them like they are made for. They seem pretty decent though. Yeah, we put alot of miles on those poor cars. The '03 Ranger I just bought came with brand new Firestone Destination LE tires on it so we'll see how they do. Seem pretty decent on the road, nice and quiet. I'm not a hardcore offroader so I dont know how they do offroad but they will get tried in the snow this winter. I'm not gonna spend $600+ on new tires if it already has new ones on it. When I pickued up the truck they still had all the little nubs and excess rubber "*******". Hadn't been driven more than a mile or two since they were installed.

Now, on our Lincoln MKX (aka Ford Edge) the stock Continentals were horrible. They were nearly done at 32K miles, horrible tread wear and noise and my wife drives it 90% of the time and drives like a grandma. Thats one tire brand I would stay away from. Replaced them with Michelin Latitude (from TireRack.com) and its like a whole new ride again...great tires.

Firestone Destination A/T's are great tires. Real quiet and great traction in rain and snow (light). Lacks the extra bite the Duratracs or mud-terrains have but still pretty decent off-road. I highly recommend them if you drive like me which is 95% road and 5% off-road.

So you bought the tire then asked for opinions? Personally I have never owned a pair of firestone tires that I liked. Parents had a pair of at's on their old explorer, horrible noise on dry pavement and wet/snow traction was almost non existant. My ranger came with some firestone h/t and they're even worse, they shake at speeds over 65. I have 0 traction in the rain and I'm replacing them before the snow comes.
