whats the difference besides the obvious that its wider. will they stick out more? Im getting soft 8s painting the center caps black and i might do spike caps on the lugs

 

It will look better because it will make the tires widen a bit. poke depends mainly on backspacing. the wider rim with the widened tires make it look like its stick out more but its really not

Wider wheel will fill out a tires width better than a skinny wheel... That's kinda personal preference... Me personally, I would take a 16x10 over a 16x8's for the looks, though a 16x8 you can air down to a lower tire pressure with less risk of popping a bead.
