285/75/16

I have a 2004 ext. cab 4x4 with the 16" 5 stars no lift yet will 285/75/16.. 32.8/11.2 fit the 16x7 rim and if so how bad will they rub?? does anyone have pics of this?? any help would be great thanks

SuperGildo@RRP 02-21-2005 08:23 PM

yes theyll fit the rim, and theyll rub pretty good. just get 265/75r16s, the one inch wont make THAT much of a difference and you wont be embarrassed everytime someone heres you rub hard.

on my cardomain site you can see my 265/75R16s never rubbed hard, never rubbed at all with on-road driving, and rubbed only once with a bit of extreme off-road

265/75/16 here and no noticeable rub driving foreword, minor noticeable in reverse. Love them! If you're determined to go 285 get your lift first or tint your windows so the people can't see the face of the person driving tires rubbing that hard :)

285x75 will not rub that bad at all. if you do put these on i do recommend a little bit of a t-bar crank. now the tire doesnt fit the greatest on a 16x7 rim it really would be wiser to put it on a 16x8 rim. BUT!!! 16" wheels and tires cost ALOT more then 15" so if you plan on getting new rims too. you might just as well buy a set of 15x8 and some 32x11.5x15 it will be cheaper. UNLESS u just want a bigger tire and dont really want to buy rims just get some 265x75x16's they wont even need the t-bar crank and will fit fine. thats the size I have on my truck also. but i also have a set of 16x8's I will never buy 16's rims agian. unless if the truck requires it for the rotor size like a f-250. then am stuck...

I will never understand that tire code shyt... Why would going in reverse make a difference? The tread design?

I think the tread design grabs the plastic guard on the front...tough to see exaclty what's going on when I'm driving :) I know that I hear nothing when going forward and something in reverse...

well i would assume under hard reverse throttle that the front end would drop kinda like high torque drag cars seem to drop when the light turns green. with the engine being in front it would seem to drop quicker, but its never happened to me!

Nope not hard....

thanks everyone, what about 35's on 15x8s with a 3" body lift
