295/75 or 315/75

I am torn, I have searched and looked high and low but I am still undecided on which size to go with.

The 295/75/16 measures 33.4 in high and 11 in wide.

The 315/75/16 measures 34.6 in high and 11.4 in wide.

So guys the BL will be all installed Saturday and I thought while I was doing it I might as well take my tires in to get mounted as well. I have to figure out which size to go with and if anyone has pictures to compare the two on a truck with just a BL that would be a HUGE help.

Thanks all!

305/75R16!

Smurphey Apr 8, 2009 07:45 PM

don't the 295/75/16's measure 11.6 in wide and the 315/75/16 measure 12.4 in wide? i looked at two tire converters and that's what they said...

These measure the same height as the 295 and are only a half inch wider for an extra 20 bucks a tire. So thanks but no thanks ya know

For the specific tires I am getting the measurements given are what the manufacture states that they are so ya

the 315s might be too big
i know LORD of WAR has 295s on his BL truck and the still rub so its up to you and how much you want the tires to rub or how much you have to cut

Yea I know Jake pretty good man and he doesnt have the tbars done or an AAL in the rear like I am set up with. So that should be the difference but that is a good point

Bigger the better!

Thats what she said:439:

But I think you should invest in some JD traction bars to keep your axel form tearing the crap out of that box. I hit even with 265's. If you were wheeling lightly, or not at all I would say don't worry about it, but I have seen your pics, and you wheel good lol.

TrucknGolf Apr 8, 2009 08:05 PM

As long as they are not really agressive I would say 315/75/16.

01 ranger 4x4 Apr 8, 2009 08:11 PM

yea but you also have a topper so that kinda cancels out the AAL on height but like mentioned above the traction bars will a little and if its an all terrain you may be able to get away with it also wheel size/BS will factor into it as well

Yea I am almost sure my backspacing is 4 or 3.5 but I am not 100 percent on it.

And as stated the traction bars are coming soon they are next on the list esp. with the big meats

Lord Of War Apr 8, 2009 09:21 PM

Greg, the 295 = 33.27 x 11.73
the 315 = 34.49 x 12.32

If you want the 315's you have to max the tbars and install the AAL... end of story.

295 it is imo.

315/75r16 is only .2" smaller in diameter than my 35x12.50 when brand new.....

IMO...

I ran 80% tread 35x12.50's on my truck when it was only bodylifted....maxed out bars, stock rear......rubbed the inner fender, I didn't have flares but it'd rub those, and no valence and i'd have to trim a good bit off it. Sure...Looks cool and perfect imo for the street, but definately didn't feel comfortable enough to wheel it as it was.

Shane is 10000% right. It will look great on the street but if you wheel it youre going to **** up some body panels and what not.

04blackedge Apr 8, 2009 10:32 PM

295 is my vote too, its gonna look sick!

Sea-Bass Apr 8, 2009 11:00 PM

Here's a pic(not the best) of my truck w/295's

RangerMuse Apr 8, 2009 11:17 PM

I think you guys are right, in this case as much as I would like to go bigger the 295 fits my needs much better. Wheeling it wont be such a worry and it will look really good.

I will update later in the week boys

Greg, its going to look pretty much just like my truck.

This will give you a little better idea of what the stance will be.

yea its def up to you the 35s would look way better but def gonna rub cuz ive gotten my 30s to rub with a BL AAL and tbar crank so....
i would go with the 295 since its bigger than a reg. 33

it seems like more and more of the DWB crew are liftin their trucks its gonna look sick

camodown Apr 9, 2009 12:31 PM

295

wyldechild Apr 9, 2009 02:19 PM

295's will look solid Gregory.

RangerMuse Apr 9, 2009 02:33 PM

^^^ Yea they will look sharp, now I need to get rid of what I have on there and I will be set.

xp1ik99 Apr 9, 2009 02:51 PM

315's well that is if your man enough, ive ran 315's with a body lift, shackle and cranked bars on my last truck and no rubbing on or off road other than at full lock on the sway bar, this was on stock rims too........opinions are one thing, facts are another, i say go for it

01 ranger 4x4 Apr 9, 2009 03:04 PM

thats where you can get away with 35s cuz they have less BS so they will rub on the swaybar etc but with aftermarket rims they are pushed out more so they will rub on the inner fenders
plus he ^^ has stepside with no flares
cant wait to see it done im in the process of gettin new tires for mine as well
what tire are you goin with??
