30" tires with 3" bl=stupid?

so here is my dilema. im a poor highschooler so money is tight. i want to slap some bigger tires on my 2wd and possibly a bodylift, but i want to do one at a time because i wouldnt be able to drop like 1k at once. so i was thinking of getting 30" tires for now and wait a few months and get a bodylift. would 30 inch tires look stupid with a bodylift? or should i suck it up and try to fit some 31s under there and then go with a bodylift in a few months?

maybe someone has pictures of a 3" bodylift with 30s? because i really cant find any

31's is really about as small as you'd wanna go. I have a 3 inch bodylift and it makes my 31's look tiny.

31's look good with a body lift for a 2wd so 30's cant be MUCH different. BUT Im pretty sure you can run 31's stock but dont quote me, someone else will chime in. If so, get 31's the first time then body lift later on

everyone tends to go as big as they can with a 1st lift. so 30s would look fine but i wouldnt really bother with it to be honest. save you money and do it right the 1st time. it cheaper and looks better that way.

yeah but hes 2wd. they will fit but it will look stuffed IMO. and dont waste your time doing a 1" BL, if youre going to go through all that work you might as well go with the 3". chances are youll only want to go bigger in the future anyways.

The green one has Mickey Thompson MTZ's. The white one just has BFG A/T's.

sorry about these crappy cell phone pics. This is a 08 2wd xlt with 3 inch body lift on 30 inch tires. I went the same route your thinking about doing. still being in school i couldnt do both so i did tires first and then lift 4 months later.

Not too bad, It just looks goofy and out of proportion to me.

Try hitting craigslist, there is always good deals on there. And IMO save up and do it right the first time. Unless you can get a really killer deal on a set of 30's you might as well save the extra 200 bones, and do it right.

You dont HAVE to have brand new tires. Just find you some cheap tires off craigslist and then bodylift it then when you have the money go get some nicer tires.

Well this is my 2wd Sport so it's gonna be a couple inches higher but it has a 3" lift in the top picture with stock 29's and then 32's in the bottom pic.

If I were you I'd get 31s (if your tires are cooked) and then lift it later. My truck looked a bear riding a tricycle in the circus with the 29s but then again it was a Sport with a 3" lift.
