1998 Splash Rims

I'm interested in changing the appearance of my 98 Splash, and would like some suggestions on rims and tires. I don't want to lift it, would keep that part stock. Not looking for something too flashy, just something to sharpen it up. I'm thinking I would want a little larger tire than the stock on it now.

I'd like to take the rims off of my Splash and let my son have them for his 97 Ranger XLT since he has the aluminum stockers on his truck.

Thanks, Grizz

go to a wheel and tire dealer, or check out summit online. theres lots of wheels and tires out there. it's up to you to decide whats right for your truck. there are lots of wheel/tire places around .

I checked out the Mustang Cobra 5 Stars...is it specifically called that or will any Mustang Cobra rim work? I see where it is 5 pointed and looks like a star. Ebay has a lot of them and the store selling them is near me...$600 - 800/set? Is that a good price?

the things to look for are 5x4.5 bolt pattern and backspacing between 3.25 and 4 inches

Thanks Gearhead. I'll ask since I don't know, but what exactly is backspacing? Forgive my ignorance on the subject.

backspacing is the distance from the inner edge of the wheel to the suface of the wheel that goes up against the hub, im running 4 inches of backspacing on mine but other people seem to like a little less which makes the wheel stick out a little more, hope thats clear, im not always good at describing it, let me know

I am certain the Splash ended in 1998. The following two years they had a Sport package and then in 2001 they offered the Edge. My 1998 is a beautiful, and original Toreador Red. The clear coat is starting to show its age around the 3rd brake light, but other than a few nicks from debris, it's in great condition. Original owner and 108,000 miles later, here I am looking to dress her up a little.

Also thinking about getting new headlights and new rims/tires(on another thread). It is either that or buy a used Ford Lightning next year when my wife's Escape is paid off. I love the style of the Lightning, kind of like the Splash on roids!

I didnt know that either, I was just about to come in here and say it was a 93-97 Thing only, In my face!

The splash only came in a few colors, didnt it? I've got that Red too, except its faded to Orange.

My Splash is on the Exterior forum under the New headlights thread started by me. I'll get better pictures this weekend.
